Guillaume Chastel

born in Algeria the French Percussionist started to play the piano in Bordeaux and Bayonne, France, when he was seven years old. With eleven he started to play percussion with Antoine Gastinel. In 1994 he had his first percussion lesson with Sylvio Gualda in Versailles. After participating in the Munich ARD competition he decided to study with Prof. Bernhard Wulff at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany.

Guillaume Chastel performed in festivals all over Europa and Asia. His Repertoire includes not only the most famous and notorious solo and ensemble pieces, but also recent contemporary music.

Guillaume Chastel is especially interested in working with music theaters, composers and in improvisation.
